Pope Francis' Five Finger Prayer

Walking with Psalms

"The heaven's declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands." Psalm 19:1 Whether your family includes you and your spouse, young or young adult children, or just you and a fur child, getting outside to enjoy creation is a wonderful activity to do as a family! You may never have noticed this, but the Psalms are filled with verses that give praise and thanks for creation! Next time you are out for a walk, hike, bike ride or run try using the Psalms to make it a holy experience! You can use these steps! 1.  Find a Psalm, or pick from the below list: 2. During your walk or other activity, reflect upon the following: Amen!

Do Not Be Afraid                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    Do Not Be Afraid, for I am with you.  Genesis 26:24 This week after Easter Sunday, we are reading the stories of the disciples fearing what was next, wondering what happened, and discovering that Jesus’ body was gone.   So many questions were unanswered. We are presently living in time when we are sheltering in our homes and wondering what is next.  We are afraid of so many things.  The disciples’ fears went away when Jesus appeared to them and said, “Peace with you.”  We too must seek Jesus during these times to calm us and take away our fears. Allelulia! He Is Risen

Alleluia! Christ Is Risen!  Any other year we would have been together with the parish community to sing our Alleluias. We know that this year we are making the best of difficult times. But our celebration of Easter has just begun! Until we get back with the parish community we need to find ways in our home to celebrate together and educate our families about Easter.  This activity would be for our younger families, but it might be fun to turn it into a game for the entire family as a scavenger hunt. The items for this activity are found around the home and if you can't find a particular item, just improvise. The idea is to use the items to tell the Easter story of Jesus.
